Don’t know to love or hate McDonald’s. Everytime they come up with such Hello Kitty promotion, I will go crazy over collecting them all.
Anyway, I nearly had to send my gal to school cause I was nearly not in time to finish this up! The ribbon was the last, spells the lousy work. Other than that, pretty happy with it 🙂
Inside croissant is nutella. They go well!!! Yum!!!

Cold Soba for son
Tip : Make the soba the night before and keep in the fridge. So as to keep the soba as chilled as possible. Freeze the soba sauce in the freezer, the frozen soba sauce can act as an “ice pack” in the lunch bag.
It’s exam week over here in Singapore. 1 May was Labour Day, but it meant nothing to tutors like me. It’s the best day to have extra lessons. Had full day session, top with revision with own children. Life of a modern day mum 😦
Simple one here. Shaped out of pancakes. 🙂 Scroll down for pancake’s recipe. 🙂 It’s yummy 😉
Hello Kitty Bento
The cutter didn’t seem to work well on pancakes 😦
Hello Kitty Pancake
Pancake Recipe – Serves 4
Plain Flour – 1.5 cups
Baking Powder – 1 tspns
Salt – 1/2 tspn
Sugar – 1 tbsp
Milk – 1.5 cups
Medium egg – 1
Butter – 3 tbsp melted (I’m using SCS)
- Mix all the dry ingredients together.
- Make a well in the center and pour the wet ingredients.
- Mix well till all the lumps are gone. I find using whisk to mix gives great texture. (http://www.whisk.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2011/08/Whisk1.jpg)
- Heat up non-stick pan till very hot.
- Lower fire to medium, pour in about a ladle full.
- Flip when batter starts to bubble. (note, if pan is not hot enough, the first piece usually don’t give nice color. But it’s still edible)
- Allow the other side to cook till brown. After a while, you will get a hang of the timing.
Happy cooking 🙂 The secret lies in the butter. Use a good butter and your pancake will really be yuuuummmmm!!!!
Happy Birthday Bento for son
I want to make a Happy Birthday Bento for son!!! But his birthday will only be on this coming Sunday. Haiya, nevermind la, made today 😉 He didn’t know about my plan. By now, he would have had his recess, hopefully he had a pleasant surprise 🙂 Hand color and face color off 😛

Simple Maki Bento for gal
No more time to make anything special for gal.
The bottom makis look like Tuna Maki right?!?! Kee kee kee, actually they are Taiwanese sausage 😛 Thought I have better mention it here, in case my reader think that it’s ok to pack raw food.
DO NOT PACK RAW FOOD!
Simple Maki Bento
Today 2 animal friends went on a hot air balloon ride, and had 2 stow aways on board (Rilakkuma and Korilakkuma) 😛
Food is a very local, Chinese stuff, Fa Gao, and what we call “9-layer nonya kueh”, basically sweet stuffs 😛
Hot Air Balloon Bento
On another note, a few days ago, I bought 2 Japanese bento boxes from a 2nd hand shop at dirt cheap prices of S$3 per set!!!! Kids are thrilled! Son said food is yummier 😛 Haiz…
$3 2nd hand Japanese Bento boxes!!!
Daughter has poetry recitation today. She selected a silly but cute poem. So did a bento related to her poem.
The poem is at the end of this post. Very cute poem 🙂 Glad that she did pretty well for the recitation.
I taught my caught to clean my room
I taught my cat to clean my room,
to use a bucket, brush and broom,
to dust my books and picture frames,
and pick up all my toys and games.
He puts my pants and shirts away,
and makes my bed, and I should say
it seems to me it’s only fair
he puts away my underwear.
In fact, I think he’s got it made.
I’m not too happy with our trade.
He may pick up my shoes and socks,
but I clean out his litterbox.
My Melody Bento for her
The left hand side of My Melody wasn’t so good 😦 Haiz…
Oh, the filling for some of the makis are seaweed chicken. My children love it!!! More ways to serve maki 😀

Simple Maki with chilled chawanmushi bento for him.
Maki with Chawanmushi Bento
After packing chawanmushi the last round, kids said that the chawanmushi broke apart. I couldn’t quite understand but can only imagine what they were saying. This time round, I put less soup stock to the egg, to firm it up more..
I folded a piece of kitchen towel so as to absorb moisture from the chawanmushi.
