This week is a very tiring week. Son injured his knee and was on cast and away from school. Whenever any of my children on MC at home, I will be super busy. Didn’t realised how exhausted I was until last night. Plus I normally naps in the morning, with son at home, I didn’t nap at all!
Well, good that today is the last day of school! So last school bento for ther term/semester. Well, I just may do some home bento for myself 🙂
Bento today is a very happy Lettuce Princess who is having school holiday 🙂 Food was Chinese Char Siew Bao
Lettuce Princess Bento
I have been wanting to attempt Little Twin Star for a while, since son is not packing food, thought I will have the time, and finally did so today, but only one of them 🙂 Hmmm, the white dress is not appearing clearly due to the white bread 😦 It was also challenging to cut out the design out of the pink kamaboko 😦
Oh, I wanted to pack sugar for her strawberries, but couldn’t close the box after putting the container in. Girl said she doesn’t need sugar for these strawberries! Yippee!!!!!! So happy!! She used to need sugar for any kind of strawberries, even if they are the sweet sweet type. Very very happy to have this breakthrough 🙂
Food : Sandwich (haiz, again, ya, she can have her fave cinnamon sugar sandwich everyday!), berries.
Little Twin Star Bento
Today I was even more pressed for time than yesterday. We are still trying to figure out the best route to my son’s new school, as such, I had very little time to make the bento, and it was badly and loosely done.
Idea came from gifts that friends gave, chocs and new picks that are full of hearts.
Hearts Bento for her
Food : Hearts Nutella Sandwich with pink pearl candies, hearts sausage with hearts picks, hearts choc, strawberries (that actually look like hearts from certain angles) 😉
This post is way way way overdue 😛
On 10 Sep, I organised a Bentolicious Birthday Party for my gal who turn 7yo. 🙂 It was a very small party with only a handful of guests invited. But all the guests enjoyed the party thoroughly. 🙂
Here are the highlights in pictures :

Aftermath - But my sensible 9yo helped to clean up 🙂
Bento #75 : My Girl Bento
With my gal recent long fringe hairstyle, I had been wanting to make a bento that looks like her :P. And here it is:
She doesn’t like nori on bread, so I have to use something else for her hair. Nutella came to my mind since it’s one of her favorite spreads. Asked her to choose between a crown and ribbon pick, and she chose green ribbon, to match her school’s color. My nutella a little dry, spells the ugly edges 😦
Food : Nutella sandwich, grapes and Laughing Cow cheese for bus.
My Girl Bento
Bento #76 : Angry Bird’s Pig Bento
I can’t be making a gal bento for son right? Gal and I went to The Icing Room to decorate cake, and we brought back the balanced icing. Thought it was a great opportunity to use the icing to make some Angry Bird Bento. But my blue bird doesn’t look like it 😦 It was early morning and I couldn’t remember how they look like exactly!!! So ended up the eyes are too wide apart 😦
Used the breadcrumbs for the structure 😛

Messy Hair Soba Bento for him 😛
Copied the noodle as hair idea from one of the bento blogs. Can’t remember which! Sorry, can’t give proper credit :(. Will update when I find the link.
Simple bento where pretty tools saved the box!!! 😛
My friend (and blog reader) taught me to freeze the soba sauce, and take it out in the morning, so that the sauce will be cold when the child has the noodle for recess. That was what I did today. 🙂 Shall ask son how was it later.
Food : Cold Noodle, strawberries, blueberries, Laughing Cow cheese. Garnish inside the chick.
Messy Hair Soba Bento
Hello Kitty and Cathy Bento for her
Extremely simple bento. Too busy to make charaben. Didn’t even have any idea what to do till I started this morning. One of those days when I didn’t plan.
The trick to using those sandwich ‘stamp’ without flattening the sandwich too much is, only stamp on 1 of the 2 pieces of bread. Don’t stamp on both 🙂
Food: Cinnamon sugar sandwich, berries and Laughing Cow cheese
Hello Kitty and Cathy Bento
Had better success ‘stamping’ the bread than the last time when I first used it 🙂 Happy with the outcome 🙂
Close-up Stamped Bread
Tuesday Tuesday = proper meal bento day. It’s a under the sea theme for him.
Under the Sea Bento
Food: Teriyaki Salmon, Rice molded as fish and also wrapped in nori as the seabed, quail eggs also became a little baby fish, and french beans (somewhere under the fish, no space, but can catch a tiny glimpse) with just a few blueberries. Teriyaki sauce in another container. Oops forgot treats, again!! 😛
I colored the rice using the Rice Coloring sachets I bought from Daiso. My friend in the bento group said that it makes the rice salty, so I didn’t dare put too much. At this shade, the rice is already pretty salty. I think I have to go easy on the Japanese Vinegar if I use the colorings.

Sister My Melody Bento
I have made her brother bento to look like the bento box before (remember the Tomica Fire Truck Bento? ), so today, I made her bento to look like her bento box, ie, My Melody Bento. I told missy that it’s My Melody’s twin sister, but missy said no, cos they don’t look alike. She said they are just sisters. Haiz… whatever….
So here it is : Sister My Melody Bento for her.
Food: Cinnamon Sugar Sandwich under the ham, blueberries, and cookies in another box for her school bus.
My Melody Bento
Say hello to My Melody’s sister 😉 😛
