Bento 212 – Church Serving Day Bento

I started serving in my church taking care of babies 9 to 14 months.  With the location, it’s difficult to get lunch for my kids, I have no choice but to prepare bento for them on weeks when I serve.

I simply love the Kokeshi boxes which really came handy, especially the soup bowl. I made miso soup and put into my Zojirushi thermal food jar.  During lunch, my kids pour the soup into the Kokeshi box’s bowl, allowed the soup to cool and were able to enjoy hot soup in church, especially after being there for hours, it can be very cold there.  The portion is just right for daughter. The rice was at the bottom layer.  Good that the box is too small for son, else I be so tempted to get for son too.  Son’s church friend was drooling over their lunch :P, but son gladly shared his portion with his friend.  So proud of him 🙂

Eh, noticed new box? 😛 Couldn’t resist the Lego long lunch box 😛

I’m actually glad that I can still get my fingers busy with bento making during the holidays.  However, once term starts, will be tough on Sundays when I have to wake up early too. 😦  God’s strength be with me 🙂

Online Bento Sprees

Sometimes I think bento making is just an excuse for women to find more channels to satisfy our shopping need.  😛  Afterall, most bento-makers are probably in our 30s, and have probably seen enough for clothings, accessories, bags, and what have you.  Buying bento tools is a totally new ‘territory’ for we women (and some men).  And probably helps satisfy some childhood needs that wasn’t satisfied 😛

Hai ya, after one whole paragraph of talk talk talk, let’s get back to the theme in this post 😛  New bento tools!!!! puahhaha…. 😛

So what did I buy this time?

Barans and Picks!!!

I saw those lettuce from a fellow bento pal and totally love it!  My children don’t eat the lettuce that I used to put into the boxes.  😦  So laying my hands on this will certainly saves some bento running cost 😛

Stainless Steel Lunchbags

Those pretty and colorful lunchboxes are simply attractive. But but but…. as of now, most of them are not BPA-free :(.  Most BPA-free products like Lock and Locks are not very pretty at all. 😦

These stainless steel boxes that I found by accident in a local shops seem to satisfy both problems 😀  I subsequently found that online and started bringing them in myself 😉

Ain’t they cute?  Wanna guess which of is mine?

The answer is – Rilakkuma Stainless Steel Lunchboxes for my daughter  (thought I really like the Paul Frank box too.  Large enough for son.  Well, let’s see how long can I withstand the temptation.)

Lunchboxes

Lunchboxes – Bento makers’ weakness 😛  Or is it just me?  Do other bento makers have the same ‘problem’?  We see nice and unique lunchboxes, we can’t help but want to have them 😛  Noticed my new lunchbox in my last bento for son last week?  Hee Hee 😛

Well, I couldn’t resist.  First bought the green one and the small yellow sauce container for son, and didn’t plan to get for daughter. She simply has too many!!  But when I saw the pink box at another Lego shop, I succumbed and bought one for her too 😛

Bento 137 China Girl and China Boy Bento

China Girl and Boy greetings Happy Lunar New Year!!!

Got the idea for today’s bento after watching a China’s Chinese New Year variety show where there was a boy with cute Chinese trademark style hairdo.

I like sandwich balls cause it’s so compact that my daughter ends up eating more slices of bread than having the tradition sandwich.

As such, for other parents with similar problem with feeding your children, I thought having a step by step instruction on making bread/sandwich balls will be good. 🙂

Food : Breadballs with assorted fillings, berries, orange, pineapple tarts and M&Ms for boy, Ferroro for gal
